JEREMY FLINT
FOR TRUSTEE

Professional Background

I received my BA from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida in 2003 and began my professional career with a local regional public adjusting firm. I worked my way up to managing the company’s Florida offices, overseeing a team of twenty adjusters and support staff. In 2006, began my own adjusting firm specializing in commercial and large loss catastrophe work as well as a joint venture with a local general contractor who specialized in commercial shell construction and roofing. The opportunity to expand my knowledge of the construction industry led me to a position as a senior project manager overseeing two hundred full time employees. With the goal of reducing travel and focusing on starting a family I shifted the business direction and in 2016 began my current consulting business. Throughout my career I’ve had the privilege to work with and for several municipalities, homeowner associations, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, insurance companies and law firms, across various regions of the country. I look forward to bringing that experience to the Village of Poquott and assisting this wonderful community in any way I can.
In The Community

My wife Diane and I, and our family moved into the village in 2021. Although we are relatively new, we have embraced the village and all it offers, just as so many of its families have embraced us. We have participated in the beach clean ups, BBQ, Earth Day, polar plunges, happy hours (when the kids’ sleep schedule allows) and are looking forward to the events and opportunities to come. Even though we are new to this community we have always believed in the importance of participation in the community and that of helping others. We both grew up involved in community service through our respective churches and continued that into our schooling and beyond. We’ve been involved with some wonderful people in organizations such as Kids in Distress, Habitat for Humanity and Event Pros, both in personal and professional capacities.
Personal Info

I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I suppose you can say I’ve always had a bit of the Northeast in my blood though as my parents originate from Brooklyn, NY and Torrington, CT. After college I began my professional career and in 2011 met the woman who would change my world. After a few years of friendship, we began dating and Diane and I were married in 2017. We welcomed our first child, Theo, in 2019 (he’s the little blonde haired four-year-old I can usually be found chasing down to California Beach and up and down the ramp to the floating dock).

In 2021 my wife and I made the difficult decision to leave our family and friends for an incredible opportunity and relocated to Long Island. After an arduous search we stumbled upon a property that had just come on the market and after driving into the village immediately jumped at the opportunity. A year later we welcomed our twins, Lukas and Liliana to our family. Although it was difficult to leave our family we feel truly blessed to have found a new one here in Poquott and look forward raising our children here and joining its wonderful traditions.

RAY GRAHAM
FOR Trustee

Professional Background

I graduated from The University of New Hampshire in 2017 with a BA in English Teaching and just a year later, with my M.Ed. in Secondary Education. I began my professional teaching journey in 2018 and have worked in a number of secondary schools across the Island. I ultimately secured a permanent position teaching in Kings Park’s William T. Rogers Middle

School, my alma mater, and have been there since 2021. I pride myself in having built a positive rapport with my colleagues and students within my building, and I have found my career path to be a truly enjoyable and rewarding experience. Just last January, I made the decision to enroll in my second master’s degree program through Long Island University. I’ve just completed the program and have obtained an MS in Library & Information Science. I am looking forward to continuing my professional career in my new position this September.
In The Community

I have been active in the Poquott community for nearly 8 years, even before moving here full-time in late 2019! Poquott is such a special place that from the moment I discovered this piece of paradise, I knew I wanted to help preserve its beauty, maintain its exclusivity, and improve upon its overall atmosphere to continue making it a great place to live. Starting out as one of Poquott Community Association’s volunteers, I have contributed countless hours of time organizing and enjoying all of our Village’s community events. This past December, I joined the board as a trustee and have been hard at work continuing my service and commitment to Poquott. My involvement has included charitable efforts, helping to rectify persistent speeding concerns and ensure road safety throughout the village, as well as working to protect my neighbors with tree and overgrowth maintenance along village roads and play areas.
Personal Info

I was born and raised in Kings Park, and also spent a great deal of my childhood at my family’s second home in New Hampshire. My first introduction to Poquott was back in August 2016, through my fiancé, Eddie. I had no clue that this place existed, even though I lived only thirty minutes away. Beyond teaching, I coach Kings Park High School’s cross country and track teams, and thoroughly enjoy traveling, running, and reading when I find the time to do so. In the summer months, you might see me spending most of my time on our beautiful beaches and out on the water with my neighbors and family. Poquott life is truly the best!

Our Collectve Accomplishments in PoquOTT

Our team has much to be proud of in their collective efforts in the Community.

Both our candidates are currently sitting members of the Board of Trustees. Jeremy, elected in 2022 is currently acting as Deputy Mayor and Ray has been on the team since 2023. Beyond being community minded, pro-active hard working members of the current administration, they have both been instrumental in the forward movement of Poquott Village including:

Village Administration and Coordination:Streamlining and reconciling Justice Department, Code Enforcement and Village transactions; Budget review, planning and and approvals; management and supervision of outside contractors including snow and trash removal, landscaping, dock maintenance. Updating laws and policies to reflect our resident needs and concerns including that related to property maintenance, short term rentals, special events and permits. Coordinating with outside agencies including the DEC, Brookhaven and Suffolk County to ensure compliance with environmental requirments.

Community Events: Coordination and planning of Community Events including: Annual Barbecue & Cardboard Regatta, Children’s Events (including Movie Night, Halloween Event and Visits with Santa), Fundraising, Community Yard Sales and Holiday Collections.

Infrastructure Projects & Utility Improvements: Stormwater Retention Basin repairs, Drainage repairs on Tinker Bluff, Chestnut and Maybeck. Restoration of Steve’s Path. Road Maintenance and safety improvements including upcoming speed hump pilot program, speed reading systems and road signage.

Village Aesthetics: Management of community gardens, village trees, beaches and service staff. Spearheading Village Clean Up Initiatives. Collaboration with all Village Commissioners to ensure the upkeep and improvement of respected common areas for our residents.
