Our Collectve Accomplishments in PoquOTT
Our team has much to be proud of in their collective efforts in the Community.
Both our candidates are currently sitting members of the Board of Trustees. Jeremy, elected in 2022 is currently acting as Deputy Mayor and Ray has been on the team since 2023. Beyond being community minded, pro-active hard working members of the current administration, they have both been instrumental in the forward movement of Poquott Village including:
Village Administration and Coordination:Streamlining and reconciling Justice Department, Code Enforcement and Village transactions; Budget review, planning and and approvals; management and supervision of outside contractors including snow and trash removal, landscaping, dock maintenance. Updating laws and policies to reflect our resident needs and concerns including that related to property maintenance, short term rentals, special events and permits. Coordinating with outside agencies including the DEC, Brookhaven and Suffolk County to ensure compliance with environmental requirments.
Community Events: Coordination and planning of Community Events including: Annual Barbecue & Cardboard Regatta, Children’s Events (including Movie Night, Halloween Event and Visits with Santa), Fundraising, Community Yard Sales and Holiday Collections.
Infrastructure Projects & Utility Improvements: Stormwater Retention Basin repairs, Drainage repairs on Tinker Bluff, Chestnut and Maybeck. Restoration of Steve’s Path. Road Maintenance and safety improvements including upcoming speed hump pilot program, speed reading systems and road signage.
Village Aesthetics: Management of community gardens, village trees, beaches and service staff. Spearheading Village Clean Up Initiatives. Collaboration with all Village Commissioners to ensure the upkeep and improvement of respected common areas for our residents.
